Fish Have Personalities

Lynne Sneddon of the University of Liverpool (UK) says that fish have personalities and those personalities can change in response to their experiences. She and her team observed rainbow trout in various situations in their lab, such as facing down significantly larger or smaller opponents and testing new foods.

I think birds are highly intelligent, have personalities and an extensive repertoire of language,
particularly our rainbow lorrikeets [in Australia] I am forever fascinated by watching them and communicating with them on my window sill.
They brighten my day and 'demand' my attention, but seem to know when I am busy.
I guess if one watched fish enough one would come to the same conclusions as the scientists.

I keep goldfish and I do think they have different personalities. But they've been kept as pets for so long that such "adorable" traits would have been bred into them. I was a little more surprised to find that wild fish also exhibit those traits.
